WARNING! IMPORTANT USER INFORMATION

These warnings should be read before using any HOUSTON product.

All firearms are potentially dangerous weapons. Firearms should be kept out of the reach of children. Use of a handgun under any conditions may be dangerous. Serious personal injury or even death could occur without proper training in the safe handling of firearms by an accredited firearm safety course. No person should handle any firearm unless such person has successfully passed an accredited firearms safety program. Great care should be used when handling, storing or transporting firearms or when placing or removing a handgun from your HOUSTON holster. Never place a loaded handgun in a holster without first testing it. Carrying any handgun with a live cartridge in the chamber immediately in front of the firing pin may cause an accidental discharge. Single action revolvers and some semi-automatic pistols should be carried with the hammer or firing pin resting on an empty chamber. It is the user’s responsibility to exercise extreme caution when handling or carrying any handgun, and to assume at all times, that the gun is loaded. Do not attempt to trigger a handgun while it is in the holster. Triggering the handgun while holstered, can cause damage to the holster, gun or both and may cause an accidental discharge. For information on how to carry your particular handgun, please refer to your handgun manufacturer’s safety and instruction manual.

PROPER USE OF HOUSTON HOLSTERS: All HOUSTON holsters are designed to function safely and are made for specific handguns. Any alteration to the holster or using a holster with a gun for which it was not designed could also be unsafe. It is the user’s responsibility to personally check for holster handgun compatibility using actual products. It is also the user’s responsibility to regularly check the holster and its hardware (including, but not limited to snaps and screws) not manufactured by HOUSTON for proper fit and function. If any HOUSTON product becomes worn, loose, broken, defective or ill-fitting, you should cease using it immediately.

Do not carry a semi-auto pistol triggered. Always engage the safety. Do not holster or remove your pistol from holster with your finger on the trigger or hammer. Be careful with external hammer guns so as not to accidentally trigger them when holstering your pistol. Make sure to visually check this each time you holster a pistol. Your gun should not be carried in a ready-to-fire condition, unless you have been properly trained in this procedure and your gun is manufactured for this. (see manufacturers´ instructions). Make sure you disengage safety only after gun is removed from holster. Keep your finger off the trigger until you clear holster.

Keep thumb on the back of the hammer or slide when inserting the gun in the holster to help assure that no movement occurs during insertion.

During vigorous physical activity, such as running, the gun should be held in place with your hand to prevent it from falling out of the holster.

Firearms should be carried with hammer or firing pin on an empty chamber. It is the user’s responsibility to handle their firearm in a safe manner, following all recommendations made by the manufacturer and being extremely cautious.

HOUSTON holsters are a new concept in gun safety, security and simplicity. They are designed to grip the gun in a way that makes it difficult to draw if not properly executed.

The paddle should be worn in the pants with the retaining prongs below the belt. This will cause the holster to be at a slightly forward position.

The draw must snap out the gun rapidly using as straight a draw as possible, in line with the holster position.  A slow steady draw will not work. This characteristic also makes it very difficult for others to draw your gun while you are wearing it.
